Popular Mainland China Shopping Malls: Luohu Commercial City (Shenzhen)
🏙️ Shenzhen Luohu Commercial City
📖 Mall Introduction and History
Luohu Commercial City is located next to Shenzhen Luohu Port. It officially opened in 1991 and is one of the earliest shopping malls in Shenzhen targeting tourists from Hong Kong and Macao.
Its history can be said to have witnessed the "shopping boom" after Shenzhen's reform and opening up - in the 1990s, many Hong Kong people, Macau people and even overseas tourists would come here specifically to "shop".
Back then, it was known for its affordable yet diverse offerings, stocking everything from clothing and handbags to watches, jewelry, electronics, and souvenirs, making it a particular draw for tourists who love to shop online. Although foot traffic has declined somewhat in recent years due to the rise of e-commerce and new shopping malls, it remains one of Shenzhen's "port landmarks."

👉 Editor's Tips:
- Negotiating is essential : compare prices from three different stores first, and bargaining can usually get you a 30% to 50% discount.
- Pay attention to quality : some products may be "high imitations", so be careful when purchasing.
- Prevent getting lost : The mall has many floors, so it is recommended to lock in your target store before shopping.
- It is more comfortable on weekdays : There are a lot of people on weekends and holidays, so it is more comfortable to go on weekdays.
