  7. Rue Sainte-Catherine

    • The longest pedestrian shopping street in Europe, the editor reminds you: you need to have enough strength in your legs, otherwise your legs will become weak from shopping!
  8. One-day winery tour

    • Bordeaux is divided into several major wine-producing regions:
      • Médoc : A major red wine region with many famous wineries.
      • Saint-Émilion : A medieval village, a dream combination of red wine and cobblestone roads.
      • Graves & Sauternes : famous for their sweet white wine.

🍴 Must-try foods in Bordeaux

Bordeaux not only conquers taste buds with its wine, but also with its many local delicacies:

🚆 Bordeaux Transportation Guide

City transportation

  • Tram : Bordeaux's tram network is very convenient, connecting the city center with major attractions.
  • Bus : fills in the gaps left by trams.
  • Walking & Cycling : The city center is full of attractions, making it a great place to walk or rent a V3 public bike.

External transportation

  • Bordeaux–Mérignac Airport (BOD)

    • Domestic and international flights are available, and you can take a bus or airport shuttle to the city.
  • Train (TGV)

    • Bordeaux is about 2 hours away from Paris, and it is also very convenient to get to Toulouse and the Basque Country.
  • Self-driving

    • If you want to visit wineries or Arcachon Bay, renting a car is the most flexible option.

💡 A friendly reminder from the editor

  • It is recommended to make reservations in advance for wine tasting trips , especially for well-known wineries.
  • Bordeaux weather is hot in the summer, so it is recommended to bring a sun hat and sunscreen; autumn is the grape harvest season, and the atmosphere is the best.
  • You can buy Canelle at train stations, cafes, and pastry shops. My personal suggestion: it’s great with coffee in the morning!
  • We recommend a minimum stay of 3 days : 1-2 days in the city + a day trip to the wineries/Arcachon Bay.
