  • Chili Flakes – a pinch (adjust spiciness to taste)
  • Salt and black pepper – to taste

👩🏻🍳 Cooking process

Step 1: Prepare beef filling🥩

  1. Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat and sauté garlic and onion until fragrant.
  2. Add the ground beef and stir-fry until it changes color, pressing it to avoid lumps.
  3. Stir-fry diced tomatoes, shredded bell peppers, corn, and black beans together.
  4. Add chili powder, cumin, and chili flakes and simmer for 5–10 minutes, until beef is cooked through and flavorful.
  5. Taste the mixture and season with salt, black pepper and a little lime juice.

👉 The beef filling is the soul of the whole Burrito, and the spices must be fried until fragrant and the flavor is rich enough!

Step 2: Prepare other ingredients🥗

  1. Cook the rice (you can add a little lime juice and cilantro to make it Mexican style rice).
  2. Chop the lettuce into shreds and prepare the sour cream, avocado sauce and shredded cheese.

Step 3: Heat the Tortilla 🫓

  1. Heat the tortilla gently on both sides in a frying pan with a little oil to make it softer and easier to roll.
  2. Or microwave for 20 seconds.

Step 4: Assemble the Burrito 🌯

  1. Lay the tortilla flat on the countertop.
  2. Add in the following order: white rice → ground beef → shredded lettuce → shredded cheese → sour cream → avocado sauce.
  3. Be careful not to overfill it, otherwise it will burst.
  4. Rolling method: Fold the bottom up first, then fold the two sides in, and finally roll it up tightly from bottom to top.

Step 5: Fry until fragrant and set (optional)

  1. After rolling the burrito, return it to the pan and fry it over medium heat for 1-2 minutes to make the crust more crispy.
  2. Or you can just wrap it in tin foil to make it easier to carry and eat.

💡 Editor's Tips

  • Beef filling variations 👉 You can use shredded chicken 🍗, minced pork, or even vegetarian meat instead, which is very flexible.
  • You can adjust the spiciness as you like👉 If you want it to be more authentic, add more chili powder🌶️. If you don’t like spicy food, you can reduce the chili flakes.
  • Make sure you have enough cheese! 👉 The cheese shreds are key to the stringy effect, so don’t skimp!
  • Healthy version👉 You can use whole wheat tortilla, add more lettuce and beans, and reduce cheese for a lighter taste.
  • Deluxe version 👉 Add fries 🍟 or Mexican hot sauce 🌶️, it's even more sinful but super delicious!

🎯 Summary

A burrito is a simple, versatile, and incredibly satisfying dish. With rice, beans, meat, vegetables, and sauce all packed into one, it's a complete meal! 🌯 The best part is that you can add as many toppings as you like. Whether you want something rich, healthy, or vegetarian, it's all equally delicious and gives you that satisfying feeling of "one bite and it's full!" ❤️
