[Family Cooking Recipe] Garlic Bread | Edited by: Cooking Dad

🛒 Ingredients (2-3 servings, about 6-8 slices)

  • French bread (or baguette): half a loaf to a whole loaf 🥖
  • Unsalted butter: 50g 🧈 (softened at room temperature, easy to stir)
  • Garlic: 3-4 cloves (chopped or pressed into minced garlic)🧄
  • Fresh or dried parsley: a pinch 🌿
  • Salt: half a teaspoon
  • Black pepper: a little
  • Olive oil (optional): 1 teaspoon🫒
  • Shredded cheese (optional, Mozzarella or Parmesan): as needed🧀

👩🏻🍳 Detailed cooking process

  1. Processing bread

    • If using French bread, cut it into slices about 2cm thick first, with even thickness, so that the texture will be consistent when baked.
    • If you want the garlic buns in strips like those in restaurants, you can cut a few deep slits in the bread and spread the garlic butter sauce on them.
  2. Make the Garlic Butter Sauce

    • Bring butter to room temperature until softened, then mash with a fork or spoon.
    • Add minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and a little olive oil and mix well.
    • Finally, add chopped parsley to give the butter sauce a fresh aroma and color.
  3. Spread on bread

    • Spread the garlic butter sauce evenly on each slice of bread. Don't spread it too thinly; a thicker spread will give it more flavor.
    • If you want to be more devilish, you can add a layer of shredded cheese on top, and it will have a stringy effect and a burnt aroma when baked.
  4. Baking process

    • Preheat oven to 180°C.
    • Place the bread on a baking tray and bake in the oven for about 8-10 minutes, until the surface is golden brown and the edges are slightly crispy.
    • If you want it to be crispier, you can turn on the heat (Grill mode) and bake it for 1-2 minutes longer.
  5. Finished serving

    • Served hot and spicy, the moment you smell the butter and garlic, you can't resist biting into it! Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the butter and garlic aromas blend perfectly, making this a no-fail snack!

🌟 Editor's Tips

  • If you don’t have an oven at home, you can fry the bread in a frying pan over low heat. Remember to cover the pan and let the heat help the butter slowly melt into the bread.
  • If you want to be healthier, you can reduce the amount of butter by half and use olive oil instead, which will make the taste a little fresher.
  • Parsley can be replaced with cilantro, dried oregano, or even chopped chili peppers 🌶️. There are so many variations, it all depends on your personal taste.
  • Garlic buns go really well with pasta 🍝, especially with white sauce or tomato meat sauce. You can’t stop eating them.
