News Highlights | Taobao Hong Kong's "Free Shipping to Hong Kong" Trial

Starting today (August 12), Taobao Hong Kong has cancelled the original free shipping threshold for orders over RMB 99 .
Launch of the "Free Shipping to Hong Kong for One Item" service: Purchase a single item and receive free delivery to a pick-up point in Hong Kong.
Local returns are also supported.

The "free shipping for orders over 99 yuan" promotion was launched in October last year and was originally scheduled to last for 3 months, but it has continued to this day.
This upgrade is a trial in nature , and subsequent arrangements will be determined based on user feedback and operational effectiveness.
Purpose: To respond to user needs and cope with market competition, especially to counter JD.com and Pinduoduo ’s “one-item free shipping” strategy in Hong Kong.

Cainiao has over 600 pickup points in Hong Kong, along with over 1,000 pickup lockers, to support increased logistics needs.
The Taobao platform provides visual logistics tracking to enhance the local user experience.

Starting from May this year, Hong Kong users can pay the annual fee for 88VIP membership in Hong Kong dollars.
After the measures were introduced, the number of new 88VIP members doubled .

JD.com :
- "Free shipping for one piece" + subsidies for home appliances.
- Other self-operated products are delivered to your door for free with a purchase of RMB 188 or more, and can be delivered the next day at the earliest.
- Plans to open "JD MALL" in Hong Kong; acquire Jiabao Food Supermarket.
Pinduoduo :
- At the end of last year, we launched the "free shipping for one item" policy in Hong Kong, with no restrictions on amount or quantity.
Return Policy Comparison :
- Taobao: Local returns and "Return Treasure" service.
- JD.com: Local returns, 30-day money-back guarantee, 180-day replacement.
- Pinduoduo: No special arrangements at the moment.
