📝 Editor's opinion
I think AEON supermarkets have a kind of "collective memory" for Hong Kong people. Many people didn't shop at Donki when they were little, but at JUSCO !
When I went to JUSCO, I used to shop not only for the supermarket but also for the toy and stationery sections, even school uniforms and household items. Basically, the whole family could find something they loved there. Although it feels a bit less nostalgic after changing its name to AEON, it remains one of the best Japanese-style department stores in Hong Kong.
Compared to the high-end positioning of CitySuper and the middle-class positioning of YATA, AEON is more of a "popular Japanese department store" . It has a Japanese flavor but is relatively affordable, making it a very practical choice for Hong Kong people.
