Shoumei White Tea Introduction🍵🍃

What is Shoumei tea? 🌿

Shoumei belongs to the white tea family and is a more leafy and heavily fermented variety. Its name comes from the dried leaves' resemblance to the eyebrows of a centenarian, symbolizing health and longevity. Shoumei primarily uses one bud, two, and three leaves from the Fuding Dabai tea tree. These large leaves are covered in silvery-white hairs, resulting in an orange-yellow tea soup with a fresh, pure, and lingering aroma. The taste is mellow and rich, with hints of floral and fruity notes and a sweet aftertaste.

Origin and quality 🏞️

Shoumei tea is primarily produced in Jianyang and Zherong counties in Fujian Province, China. These regions boast a mild climate and tranquil environment, ideal for growing high-quality white tea. Zherong County, known as the "Longevity Hometown of China," produces high-quality Shoumei tea, a high-mountain tea with natural advantages.

Brewing method and suggestions ☕

  • Water temperature: 90-95°C is best, avoid using boiling water to damage the leaves

  • Tea amount: about 5-6 grams (for teapot or gaiwan)

  • Brewing time: 5-10 seconds for the first brew to wash the tea, and 1-3 minutes for each subsequent brew. It can be brewed 5-6 times in a row.

  • Editor's Tip: Use soft water or mountain spring water to brew tea for better flavor. The soaking time will be gradually extended as the number of brews increases, allowing the tea fragrance to be revealed layer by layer.
